HTTP 401.2 - Unauthorized

Postby munkeng » Jan 02 04 6:11 pm

I am getting this error page when trying to access a website through Wingate.

However, when I do a direct dailup connection to the internet, this website prompt for a username and password.

Any solution? Thank you in advance.

How do you connect to WinGate ? With:

(a) WinGate Internet Client
(b) Proxy directly
(c) NAT
(d) NAT + T/R

Would it be possible to post an URL for the site, please ?

The first suggestion I would make is - upgrade to 5.2.2. (Ensure you have a backup of your current registry settings, etc. for safety's sake)

NAT is Network Address Translation, another name used for ENS (Extended Networking Services if I remember correctly)

I'll check through the recent changes, I recall something with regards to this, and get back to you when I'm in the office tomorrow.

It's still with our QA team, they're investigating. Will let you know as soon as possible.

Larry sent this article through today. Perhaps it could help shed some light on the subject.
