Trying to Authenticate as Guest

Postby Smoothjadesa » Sep 18 09 8:10 pm

Hi,

I'm trying out the trial version of Wingate and got it installed on our Primary DC - Windows Server 2003. I've setup Wingate to use the AD on this server and it imports the whole AD database susccesfully. When I try to access any webpages from a client via the Wingate it keeps trying to authenticate the user on the Guest account, which I've disabled in AD and specifically in Wingate.

Not sure if I've missed any settings that needs to be configured besides the Database sync?

Regards

It sounds like the clients are not being presented with a method by which they can authenticate. This would result in all users being denied access unconditionally as guests. This problem is easily resolved.

  • Open the GateKeeper and navigate to Services :: WWW Proxy Server :: General.
  • Under Authentication where required by policy, select NTLM.
  • Click OK.
