rtsp and connections

Postby breese » Oct 15 09 11:21 am

I can not get Wingate to pass port 554 for rtsp streams

The server has 2 nic's
1 for the dsl
1 for the lan (10.0.0 subnet)
everything else except rtsp seems to be working.
Wingate is 6.6.3

When an outside source connects to the 554 port, the Wingate software registers the access with the Wingate server name and has dozens of Audio connections attached to it.

I have tried to set up the port for Direct and Cascaded, no change

Ideas?

What exactly is the topology for a client using RTSP proxy? A client machine, on the LAN, connecting to an outside server through configured RTSP proxy - is that correct?

Have you tried connecting to an RTSP server from your local net to the outside? Also, can you email me your RTSP server URL so I can take a look at the traffic pattern?

Is it the log for this outside-initiated connection?

Yes

I do not know of any RTSP supported site to run the test from Inside to the internet.
I have tested within my local lan to the streaming media server and all works.

Something is keeping my out-side connections from receiving the stream.

Have you tried using port mappings instead of a RTSP proxies. Proxies are typically intended for accepting connections from clients on the local network and providing access to the multititude of services on the Internet that can be accessed. Your scenario sounds more like a scenario where a TCP Mapping or Port Mapping is required. Accepting connections from a multitude of clients on the Internet and redirecting those connections to one specific server on one specific port.
