Wingate Features

Postby abraao895 » May 18 10 1:02 am

Hi, i am very interested in the Wingate software. This solution is very attractive to us. But i need to know some topics about this. Follow:

1) I have 2 internet providers. Could do i set the Wingate to use both the servers? How could i do this?

2) Could do Wingate define using the MAC number of the host your IP using DHCP?

3) Could do i visualize the bandwidth of each terminals of my internal network is using in one graph or in multiples graphs?

Thanks a lot!

Hi

1. Multiple connections.

WinGate supports multiple connections in its proxies (not for NAT though). On windows Vista and later, this doesn't work if any of the connections is dialup however due to problems in the OS (refuses to allow use of any other interface). If you're on XP or earlier, or not using dialup though you're fine. Select the gateway tab in your proxy and choose which gateway(s) to use, in which order etc.

2. DHCP reservations by MAC.

WinGate supports this. Right-click under a scope in the DHCP service dialog on the settings tab, and select reserve by MAC

3. Bandwidth visualisation.

WinGate doesn't do this. There are other tools available that do however, and can work with WinGate. I'm trying to remember the name of one I tried sorry - it was a bandwidth controller.

Regards
