wingate hour restriction

Postby shankar80 » Jan 12 04 8:15 pm

dear sir/mdm.

im running wingate 5.04, i would like to ask whether wingate have this facility or not. i want to set that this particular user only can use the internet thru wingate client login for an example for 30 min in a day, doesn't matter what time they start to use it but the wingate only can allow them for 30 min to surfnet.

Please let me know whether this option is available in wingate 5.04 or not.

Thank you.

Hi,

If you are using straight proxy or NAT (and have Transparent Redirect (TR) turned on) then you can set a policy in the WWW proxy. You can set this for all users, or groups or by individual users.

If you go to the advanced tab and specify which requests this recipient has rights you can choose this criterion is met if User: Seconds online and then set this to less than 1800 (for 30 min). This will allow your users to browse the internet for the allotted time and then will deny further access.

You can then set the scheduler to reset the user accounts on a daily basis.

Also, did you know that your current license allows you to upgrade to version 5.2.2 for free?

Thanks,
MattP
