All traffic through multiple hubs.

Hi Everyone,

Here is plan:

There is a seperate class with some PCs. Right now, they are connected to Internet directly through Hub #2. All PCs in this class get IP addresses from HUB #1 (Programmable + DHCP).

I want to make all the Internet traffic of these PCs pass and control through 192.168.0.100, which is connected to the same HUB #2.

As I have permanent users and regular guests in this class, they must get IPs from Hub #1 with DHCP to make the Interent connection easy. So that each user will just plug the cable and use the Internet in this class. And at the same time all other request that are NOT going through 192.168.0.100 should be dropped.

Everyone has - Windows XP Pro.
Wingate version: 6.2.0 (1121 b).

Thanks a lot in advance for original and detailed solutions.

Hi

in the DHCP server in Hub 1, set default gatway that is assigned to DHCP clients to be 192.168.0.100

then all computers that are assigned IPs by this DHCP server will try to connect to the internet through the WinGate computer.

Regards

Hi Adrien,

In "Routing' section of my Hub #1 I've configured like:
Routing type: NET
(There is a "HOST" option also)
Destination Address: 192.168.0.1
Network Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.100

However, when user's Browser doesn't use proxy (192.168.0.100) and when PC gets dynamic IP & gateway address - 192.168.0.1 from Hub #1's DHCP they still can access Internet. I want to force everyone who connects to network surf the Internet only throught Wingate Proxy Server (192.168.0.100) and Internet must be unavailabe unless they use proxy.

Is there anything that I may have missed?
