Just to clarify your set up. You have WinGate (which version) running on one machine. Then on a client machine behind WinGate on your LAN you have an email client trying to connect out to your ISP to recieve mail? HOw is the client connecting out? Via NAT, WGIC or via the pop3 proxy? Where is Nortons running? Where is the error given? What asks for the username and password?

Regards

hello again, thanks for the reply

the wingate version is 5.2.2

I only have two pc's linked together with notons anti-virus and wingate 5.2.2 on the same pc. I get emails via a pop3 server, i get a port 110 error. And it is norton anti-virus that is asking for my username an password i retype it and the error is still there.

The symantec web site told me to change the port for the email protection from 110 to 2200 through my registry but the problem was still there.

So i have disabled nortons email checker and i can recive my emails but i am worried that i will get a virus.

hope this helps
