Mailserver wingate

Postby Geert » Feb 04 04 10:16 am

We would like to do following:
Use mailserver of wingate.(version wingate 5 plus/6users)
Wingate is installed on server ip 192.168.0.1/Win NT

Question:
1. what do we have to do in wingate
2. how do we do settings in outlook on client machines

Is there maybe a general step by step setup guide for this topic.

thanks in advance

Hi

There are a couple of guides in the WinGate help file, also another one I think on our resources page at www.wingate.com

In general, in WinGate you set up to use WinGate mail, add your local domains and email addresses to WinGate.

Then you set up your Outlook to use the IP address of WinGate as its SMTP server and/or POP3 server.

yes i have printed out all manual pages relating to mail.
Under system tab there is pop3/smtp/Email

Under Email
- Domains
Do i understand correct that we make domain with our name so xxxx.nl
Do we put it as locally/pointer or relay. we normally take mail from where our website is running with outlook and now first want to take it in with wingate mailserver and then client can take from there.
- Addresses
Then we make mail adresses for the diferent e-mail adresses and let them point to users
- Delivery
Here we put our isp for outbound mail

Where do we put details about inbound mail from:
a) our website
b) isp for some private e-mail adresses

Thanks in advance
