XP server, 98 client, no default gateway

Postby Ekkas » Feb 03 04 7:56 am

I've got latest WG on an XP server with some 98 clients (and mostly XP clients). Strange thing is the 98 machines would not get default gateway (just empty in winipcfg) but the XP machines works fine. RTL8139 cards in the 98 machines and I tried two different drivers that never used to give problems. Maybe IE6.1 could have influence?

Anycase it's wierd and maybe someone out there got/had similar problems? I made 98 machines static (and now they're ok) but would like to go back to DHCP for them.

Thanks in advance.

If you turn on debug logging in WinGate's DHCP service, is the request shown coming in from teh 98 Client? Is it just the default gateway that is not set correctly, or is the DNS not set either?

Regards

Yes it's shown.

DNS is set correctly.

Thanks
