Can Only Recieve 4 emails before timeouts

Hi all.

When i recieve emails on a clients machine it gets to the 4th email of 20 and just stops downloading them. It pops up and says the POP3 Server has stopped responding. The Total size of all the emails is 500kb so it should download even on dialup. Its the same problem on every system and has only just started happening a week ago. The wingate version is 3.5 and web pages and everything else works perfectly.
I was wondering if anyone knows what i should look at next to get this problem fixed.

Hi

I presume you mean 3.0.5, since I don't think there ever was a version 3.5

Anyway, WinGate 3.x didn't have NAT, so your only connection options would be

WGIC
POP3 Proxy
SOCKS

How are your mail clients connecting to the POP3 server?

If this ran fine for ages then stopped working, have you checked for virus infections? Some common viruses now are quite disruptive of network access.
