Wingate 7 – Use intercepted proxy for NAT Client

Postby Sergiy » Apr 29 13 3:10 am

I am in process testing Wingate 7 version 7.3.0, and have problem with use intercepted proxy for NAT Client PC.
Configuration: OS Windows 2008R2 64bit – (rules domain-dhcp-dns-sharepoint portal) + wingate7 (gate), and client's PC. All of this run in VMware. (On server: two network adapter – for “inet_provider” and LAN. On client PC, adapter configuration – as required in manual).
Created credential rules - for assumed user by IP address (and authenticated them there).
The no problem with use proxy, or pure NAT (and creating requested policy for them).
For intercepted proxy i am tried doing same as in Wingate 6 intercepted proxy.
But when I try use intercepted proxy in Wingate 7 (for me is “must” as I have few PC on NAT which require Inter_proxy to administration – limit inet_traffic users, deep level log’s files for analysis, warning message, statistic to portal, etc.).
I tried using default policy for Inter_proxy per manual info/ does not work for me. Created policy’s does not work. While I successful can ping online resource ((www. etc.) and can see ip-resource) on NAT PC (most OS Windows Xp SP3). Extended Network Adapter – installed and working (in options, needed ports for proxy allowed). In IExplorer when i try open pages – even no errors, just loading page. In wingate7 I see no activity for authenticated domain user (credential rule work)

Please help – I am on dead end for myself.

Hi

If the clients can ping internet sites, is this showing up as NAT: ICMP .... in WinGate Management activity?

If not, sounds like the clients are configured to use a different default gateway (not the WinGate IP).

I misspelled – I checked on NAT client, and network adapter have right WinGate IP. When I stop proxy, in wing7 activity – I have NAT: ICMP with known username and I open webpage on client (but without needed info to cache of course, since it’s pure NAT). Just when I start intercepted proxy – there no activity.

Hi

OK, so NAT works fine for web browsers, but when you turn on interception of port 80 in the WWW proxy, you no longer see anything in the activity screen?

Not even

http://

(e.g. blank URL)?

Hi

It might be best if we can have a look remotely at the server. We normally recommend teamviewer, or https://join.me for this.

If you'd like to explore that option, send us details of how to connect to our support desk at support@wingate.com

As usual problem was, not where looking. Wingate work perfectly ok/
The was just need to create one rule. On server firewall, inbound rules – (example) “Allow wingate” for program “wingate.exe” with option’s, depend what you want, for who and where. And vualya intercepted proxy work for NAT client.
Big thanks for help.
