Unable to get past Log on

Postby nicomack7 » Aug 28 13 5:53 am

Please help. I don't know what I'm doing and can't find help by watching tutorial or searching forum. I chose "WinGate User Database", restarted, and set up a free license. Now I get nothing but a blank window with a black box that says "localhost: using current windows credentials" Ive tried messing with this box every way I can think of and never get logged on.
Thanks in advance!

Hi nicomack7.

The WinGate User Database creates a default user called Administrator with no password. Click on the box to connect to WinGate. When the logon dialog appears select "Use Another Account" and enter Administrator with no password. Once you are logged in you can add/remove users, changes passwords or switch user database provider.

Hope that helps

I was able to log on by turning off Microsoft firewall. Is there any way to allow WinGate through without shorting it off?
Thanks

Hi there. What version of WinGate are you using and under what Operating System? From WinGate 7.3.1 onwards our installer should insert the correct firewall rules to allow WinGate to operate correctly.

Thanks

OK, there should definitely be a firewall rule created for WinGate.

If you open up your firewall settings, go to "Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall" and scroll down the list of firewall rules, you should see WinGate Engine there and Domain, Private, Public should all be checked.
