GateKeeper takes 100% CPU

Postby damien » Oct 29 13 6:45 am

Hello,

I'm using wingate 8.0.3 on an old Windows 2003 PDC (upgraded from an older W2K...).
This is a E7200 CPU with 4Go Mem & 120Go SSD.

When a run gatekeeper, the CPU rise up to 100% (50% GateKeeper & 50% Wingate) and never get down... On the task manager, Used memory and page errors both increase ...

Karpersky & Puresight plugins uninstalled

Any idea of what is happening ? Can i found more details of what takes so much time ?

When I exit gatekeeper, everything goes fine...

Any help would be appreciated :/

best reagards

Hi

My first suspicion would be timeline. If there are a large number of records in the timeline database, and the view range in the timeline is large (e.g. trying to display all records), then the control used to draw the timeline blocks can get pretty expensive.

Ways to reduce impact of this are:

* zoom in in timeline to a smaller time-range
* reduce number of records (e.g. by purging)
* use filtered views to only view a subset of all data

Regards
