Caching from within VirtualBox

Postby Talicada » Dec 29 13 8:12 pm

At the moment, I have a computer setup with wingate installed and it is caching everything perfectly, and i am running through the proxy perfectly from my laptop. However, when I have Virtualbox opened on my laptop. Nothing appears on my activity feed from virtualbox. I have set "Internet options" to connect everything through the proxy. I also, have set the proxy settings for Virtualbox and nothing happens. Am I missing something?

Hi

can the virtualbox ping the proxy?

It may be on a different network (e.g. different range of IP addresses), and not consider that it has a path to the proxy.

No errors, the browser now goes through the proxy perfectly. The thing that isn't working is the update manager, also apt-get update and upgrade. They don't show up in the activity log or even cache any of the files. I'm not sure if this is a overall Ubuntu problem, because I have set up the system-wide proxy to send it through my server.
