Wingate not updating

Postby pgr » Nov 17 14 4:52 am

Hi,

I noticed my Wingate hasn't been updating since April., My version is 8.1.0.4655 and I see that 8.2.5.4733 is ready to install, but never actually installs.

When I tell WIngate to perform the updates I briefly see in my Windows Task Manager a process called WinGateUpdates.exe but it seems to be crashing: WerFault launches and Windows gathers a "problem report", with the following content:

Hi Pedro. Sorry you are having trouble updating.

Is there a minidump (.dmp) file generated that you could send us? If so, could you email it to support@wingate.com or lodge a ticket at the support website - http://support.qbik.com.

Thanks
Aaron

Ok, I sent a few minidumps by mail just now.

For future reference, Windows Error Reporting (WER) minidumps are found here:

C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive

Thanks

Workaround:

go to directory

C:\Program Files (x86)\WinGate\Update

and you will find there the downloaded executable for installation of new version.

Right-click and "run as administrator" and voilá! Wingate is updated.
