Professional Installation Services?

Postby Suredata » Nov 26 14 2:21 pm

Hi there,

I thought I'd throw a couple of questions out there...

1) We have a customer running SBS2008 + 15 LAN clients. Clients are currently connected directly to the gateway and the server only has a single NIC connected to the LAN. Can we still use the server as a proxy?
2) The server is remote and access is via RDP or teamviewer only. What dangers are there is terms of losing connection etc
3) Are there any professional installation services available that can complete the work on our behalf?

Cheers

Hi,

Yes, you can still use WinGate as a proxy, in fact you can also NAT to it by setting the default gateway on the client machines to point at the WinGate server.

Obviously with a remote connection, anything that interrupts connectivity is going to make it inaccessible. Stopping the WinGate engine could cause accessibility issues. In saying that, we RDP to a lot of our servers and don't have problems with it.

We don't offer a paid installation service, but we are happy to help with any issues that you may have. Installation itself is very straightforward and should only take 5 minutes or so, it's setting up the access controls that can take some time.
