Connecting to worldclient in mdaemon from WWW

Postby Ferg1 » Mar 10 04 12:12 pm

Hi all
I am trying to connect to worldclient on mdaemon through my mailserver at work which has wingate as the firewall.
I can access worldclient from internally in the network but when i try to access it from external i get no response, the server times out
I have port 3000 enabled for this purpose but may not have it configured properly as it seems to be working from inside the server but not allowing access from outside
Any help appreciated

Kind regards

Ferg

Hi Ferg

If you are instigating this connection from the Internet then you will need to adjust the port opening (3000) you created in the WinGate firewall to send that traffic to the specific IP (internal) of the Worldclient machine on the LAN. In the configuration set the Action to "redirect packet to IP address".

In this case WinGate will not know what machine to send the data to as the connection was initiated externally, and so WinGate has no knowledge of where it is going to, unlike a request from a client machine behind WinGate.

Hope this helps

Regards
