Hi Jazzzz,
You've got me. Not sure what to suggest. I just don't know enough of the "under the hood" stuff to know how Outlook works. I solved my problem by trying all sorts of things and to date, the multiple sending has stopped. It seems strange that there are exactly three messages being sent. It's almost as if there is some sort of default operating.
I think I follow your configuration now. The inbound/outbound 192.168.0.1 is correct. (I just use a different private address) I also, use the IP's server in the WinGate SMTP Proxy and my own domain as the Account Name in Outlook (Express is the same). This is just as you have it set up.
Again, sorry to repeat, but I would have thought that in the WinGate SMTP Proxy Server, the "Outbound server" panel should have been something like "smtp.myisp.net" Then in Outlook, the "Account name" would be "jazz@jazz.com#mail (or similar) . registereduser.jazz.com. This may have nothing to do with the sending of 3 copies, but??
Also, there are times when "something" happens and the proxies stop working. Fortunately not often. When this happens, I simply delete the accounts in Outlook as well as the POP3 and SMTP proxies in WinGate and reinstall/reconstruct them. This seems to fix whatever was causing the problem. Not sure if you have tried this, but it's an option?? This is similar to Larry Bull's Code of Conduct. If you have a problem with WinGate, first go and delete the history files and restart the program. This measure works most of the time, as does deleting e-mail accounts and their proxies, then building them again.
Also, I will repeat what I said yesterday. Not enough disk space, physical or virtual memory could contribute to this problem of multiple messages, but it is only a feeling and I have no real proof of it.
That is about all I can say about it for the moment.
I have a Word Document that I have sent to various people now and some of them have had success in configuring their proxies after reading it. If you want me to sent you a copy, let me know. My e-mail is in my profile.
Let us know what happens next. Good luck.
Regards, Warren
