Wingate VPN licensing

Postby robn » Mar 18 04 12:57 am

Hi just a quick question regarding licensing for Wingate.

I am currently testing wingate and like what i have found, but am having problems working out the amount of licenses I will require.

Basically I have an internally company network of which one machine will be the VPN Host server, and potentially 5 external (home) PC that will connected to the host. These external PC's will also need to connect to PC's on the internal network (say 5 pc's) behind the host (ie the exchange server). I know they can do this without each internal machine needing the vpn client installed, as they can been seen and accessed with just the rip2 client on.

But I am not sure whether they are classed as been part of the vpn connection and therefore require a license even though they don't have and Wingate software installed on them.

So the question I am asking is do these PC require a license?

many thanks

You need a licence for each network, for instance if you have a vpn with 5 machines behind it you will need a licence covering you for at least 5 machines and a seperate licence for each of the 5 seperate home machines.

I have one VPN 6 user licence for my network at work ($119.95) and a singe user vpn licence for my home machine ($49.95)
