wingate - 1 internet link and 4 webcams

Postby TetsuyA » Mar 25 04 1:43 pm

hi all,
I'have got an internet cafe with 4 PC station, connected to internet by a server running wingate.
each station has his own webcam and microphone.

I have only one public IP and i would like to know if it is possible to receive or to send more than one video/audio connection at a time (using msn messenger, yahoo or another chat program...)

what is the suggested configuration for the wingate server? (server version, protocol, ports to be opened ecc...) and what are the limits that this configuration has?

thanks for your support

Hi TetsuyA,

You should be able to get the video working quite easily, but we don't support the audio connection as this requires support for uPnP and we don't support it at this time.

We've setup webcams using MSN messenger, Yahoo and NetMeeting successfully, usually just with the default configuration. You may need to set the Yahoo messenger to work behind a NAT firewall I think but the others should connect happily.

Hopefully I've answered your questions, sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Regards,

Matt

It depends on which method you're using to connect the clients to the server, you can use the WGIC, or NAT or a proxy connection. You can leave the server set to the default connections.

You should be able to accept more than one incoming connection.

Matt
