WinGate Server Stops Itself

Postby FreaK » Mar 28 04 4:41 am

Hi everyone!

I installed WinGate 5.2.3 on the computer that will be the server ... all the stuff is working correctly, except one thing:

When I start the server, less than 30 seconds after (about 25sec), it stops by itself and I need to re-start it .... do you know what I can do to fix that thing?

Thanks in advance to all of you ;)
Bah, who reads those anyway? :|

what is the O.S of your wingate server? if 2000/xp/2003, there is a temp solution.

wingate run as a service named [Qbik WinGate Engine], you can find it at computer management-->service.

right click-->porpertise-->restore-->first failuer-->restart service. the least interval is 1 min.

when service stopped, after 1 min it will restart! you can have a try!enjoy!

but...but we need the final, perfect solution:) who can help us? thx!!

Hi!
I have the same problem, but for most of the occasions my WG engine lokks (in the monitor) like its up and running and I guess that the service will look upon it the same way???. Still WG stops talking to it's clients and makes my server EXTREMELY busy with something

memory leak

Postby garydb4 » Mar 31 04 6:01 am

My wingate locks up when my memory reaches crucial limits. I cannot figure out how to stop my memory from building on the wingate program. It may run for 5 hours up to 5 days. Its very sporadic. I just go in and stop the wingate service and restart it and my memory levels go back down. But its a pain. If it ever reaches critical stage I have to reboot the server. Any suggestions as to how to stop the memory leak.

Hi, recall one instance with similar problems caused by RPC bug Welchia.b or MsBlast pest.

Just a thought.
