Client system crashes when trying to connect to the VPN Host

Hello,

I am trying to connect to the VPN host and keep getting a Blue screen of death.

I have the latest version of the VPN Software.

The following is the configuration on my laptop (VPN Client):

OS: Win2000 Server, SP 3
Wireless Network Card: Belkin Model No. F5D6020 ver.2

What driver is reported as causing the BSOD ? One thing you can try in the interim might be to ensure that you have the latest version of network drivers for your network card.

This is a question I have been waiting for an answer to a couple of weeks.

for perfcap i had the exact same problem with a3 com air-connect wireless card and had to get updated driver from 3Com specifically for XP (even though the original was supposed to be)

in my problem I have had 3 different clients crash my machine to BSOD. There is no report on any driver being at fault just a system STOP : 0x0000007f

in the memory dump is this snippet

I CAN say that each time it happens before the crash in the nat translations the PUBLIC WAN ip of the client is in there as well as the local IP(s)

After the crash I can use MSN Messenger without problem But internet access doesnt work until i do a repair on the connection (XP)

Paid support have not come up with an answer to this either.

Thank you for the quick reply.
I did check for the latest drivers for the Wireless card, and they seem to be the latest.

This is what I see on the BSOD:

To what does the bkpcm98.sys driver belong ? Is that the wireless card ?

Hey Pascal,

I just did a search on the file name and guess what?

It indeed is the driver for the Belkin Wireless card, as it shows up under the Belkin Install folder as well as in the system32\drivers folder.

Now what should I do?
Is there a way to make this work?

It could be a compatibility issue. You say you have updated to the latest drivers, so I'm going to have to check with Adrien (He's a driver guru) to see if he has any advice.

Sounds good.

In the meantime, I just downloaded a driver version from the Belkin site.
I dont think this is a new driver, but I will give it a shot.
Will keep you posted about the results.

My friend here has a Linksys card which I am going to install and try.

As for the new drivers for the Belkin card, they seem to be the same ones I had earlier, so there is no point in me trying to connect to the VPN Host.

Ok, let me try my luck with the Linksys one, and if this works, I would still need to have a solution for my card ;)
