WGIC send Guest username instead of User/Pass

Postby belfiori » Mar 17 04 11:18 pm

I run Wingate 5.2.2 server on a W2k server SP4 machine.
I use the Winsock Redirector Service and the NT user authentication.
Sometimes some clients send Guest username instead of the effective user/pass couple to the server, so the client is unable to navigate the internet. (user guest is only enabled for the local network). This happens randomly. Can someone help me?

Thank You

I have upgraded the server engine, but the problem is not solved.

For what its worth, I have the same problem (which I posted to this forum the same day: http://forums.qbik.com/viewtopic.php?t=1550 is the link to this topic), only its in Win XP Pro.

I have also noticed that requests to the Wingate server from the client that are automatically run, like checking WindowsUpdate for example, appear as "guest" in the Wingate history, and so would not be authenticated.[/url]
