I used wingate. Configured it into using NAT with static IP adresses. It worked, but not for long. Just as the client installed Norton Internet Security, it stopped working. And he convinces me that if I won't fix it, I'll loose a tooth :D
So, any timely help would be appreciated. Here are the details.
It's currently a DHCP lan, 3 comps of which one doesn't need internet access. Basicly, I recieve the DNS request, but soon after, the browser tries to test every similar adress but ending with .com, .org, .edu, and so on - short - it doesn't find the site.
Basicly, the firewall is OFF. So is the AV soft. And that makes me quite sure that it isn't the active function of the software that causes the problems.
Well, it IS really obvious that I DID also test the actuall physical connection, works basicly, AS WELL as making quite sure that the TCP/IP protocol is configured on automaticly finding an IP and a DNS server.
The fact is that the actuall conection is a DSL, iDSL to be specific. As it should... i suppose, all the fields in the dialer property's are blank.
I was screwing around a bit with the original settings, like trying to disable DHCP (before that the adresses were static... and it worked... for some time..), but got that reverted to full automatic as well.
Oh, when I'm writing this line the guy just called me a m************ bastard and said that he'll break my window. Lively guy, and very impatient.
