There are three basic things to check, once you have the control channel established.
First, ensure that the router(s) has the appropriate pinholes / fowarding for port 809 TCP and port 809 UDP. The port numbers can be different if you changed that in the VPN General Configuration.
Secondly, ensure that the machines behind the VPN nodes (Nodes being either the Hoster and Joiner) has some way to route a packet back to the other node / network. You can do this in one of three ways, either through RIP v 2, static routes or by setting the default gateway of the machine to the appropriate VPN Node.
Third, you might have an MTU problem if you are able to browse, but not map drives / copy files, etc.

How are your client machines showing up in GateKeeper ? Are the "Accessible" or "Not Accessible" ?
