BAN LIST where is it located?

Postby miamuy » Jun 01 04 2:08 pm

Hi,

I don't know if this is the right forum but where can I find the ban list?

Or is there other way that I can insert those common banned sites (adwares, adclick etc. ) much like winroute.

I'm currently using winroute pro and a friend of mine is persuading me to use wingate, but this is one thing wingate fall short off.

thanks,
Mi

The forum thread: http://forums.qbik.com/viewtopic.php?t=1906 should be a good starting point to the range of policies available within Wingate.

Hi,

This is the scenario:

1. I installed wingate and then added sites to the ban list.
2. I want to uninstall wingate but preserve those banned sites that I entered or right-click in the activity pane.
3. After re-installation, I thought the banned sites will still be there but are'nt.

Is there any way I can preserve those banned sites in a file so that I can load it later in a fresh installation. I have a habit of installing a fresh image file every now and then.

Thanks a lot.

From the menu Options > Advanced > Save Registry

At time of re-install import this saved file.

Thanks a lot Nev! Stupid of me, haven't tried searching the registry. Do you happen to have already a list of recommended banned sites that I can integrate in the registry?

Well, thanks anyway :-)

Hmm well every site has different requirements, I generally ask the CEO what is desired to be blocked.

Maybe a web search engine could give some results here!
