Gatekeeper Fatal Application Exit

Postby surya_ok » Jun 08 04 9:47 pm

I am using ADSL Connection.
My Computer has two NIC. One is connected to the modem with IP 192.168.1.1 SM 255.255.255.0 GW 192.168.1.2
Primary DNS 202.146.255.3 Secondary DNS 202.146.255.5
and the other is connected to local area network with
IP 192.168.0.1 SM 255.255.255.0.

Usually if I install wingate, I don't need to make any changes. I only set the IP to obtain automatically on the workstation computers. And then I can browse all websites.

But now after I change my computer with the same settings above, I still can browse but unable to look my inbox in Yahoo and Hotmail. But my Macintosh client can look into the inbox in Yahoo and Hotmail.

And then I try to use proxy in the connection settings, I can look my inbox.
The problem is there are too many computers in my office (about 50 computers), I have to set one by one the proxy settings. I don't want be like that, I've never had this problem before.

I try the Internet Connection Sharing and I don't need to input the proxy too and still can access my inbox.

Also my gatekeeper often quit by itself. It said Fatal Application Exit, but the service is still running. After I try many times, I can open my gatekeeper again.

The problem that you have seems to be unusual,
if wingate dowsn't work then you shouldn't be able to view the anything, and if it does work then you should be able to see anything,
did you say that on the wingate server you had default DNS servers entered or specified on the local area connection for the local area network, not the ADSL.
My www proxy server sometimes fails when i have a default dns server entered on the LAN connection to which the www proxy is bound to.
Try removing ALL the DNS servers on the LAN connection for the local network, and try one of the clients.
Also, is the www proxy bound to the local network NIC card IP address, not the ADSL one.

I am not sure if this will work however give it a shot.
