NEED HELP!!!!! , PLEASE!

Postby drk91 » Jun 05 04 5:40 am

I have loaded the latest version of the WINGATE VPN client on a Dell PC running XP Pro. I can install it and configure it just fine. After a reboot as soon as the client attempts to connect to the Server, the machine CRASHES with the blue screen of death (memory dump). I am connected with a NETGEAR network card going through a LINKSYS router and out through a cable modem.... mind you, i can go out on the internet just fine with no crashes. Its only as soon as i connect to the VPN Server. PLEASE HELP - THANKS A WHOLE BUNCH IN ADVANCE!!!!!!!!!

Can you give a bit more details about this incident? Wingate version (5.2.3 or 6.0 beta 2)? What was the exact wording of the crash reason (like Stop 0x000000d1 addres...). Also, can you forward me the crasg dump if your system was configured to create it?

I had a similar problem it was related to the vpn receiving the wanside ip from a usb modem, Qbik supplied a nic driver which cured the BSOD but not the non-connectivity of the usb modem. I have since changed the modem.

...unfortunatley all i can tell you is that is was version 5.2.3. I dont have the exact wording of the crash... it was somthing like 2 1/2 sceens long which scrolled by very quickly and did a 15 second countdown and rebooted :(
