VPN Command Line Options - Scripting

Postby dcocke » Jun 18 04 7:01 am

Is there a way to stop or start a VPN tunnel with a command line option? I know I can stop or start the entire WinGate Service via command line.

We have three networks we tunnel to and would like to have a script that connects to remote site #1 VPN and performs functions on remote machines and then disconnects from the VPN.

On a related note, is there a way to set a time-out for a user? Such as disconnect from the VPN after so many minutes.

I hope later versions can include policies to restrict when users can connect to the VPN.

All-in-all, this is a great product and we have enjoyed it very much.

Thank you,

Hi David,

Thanks, it's always great to get positive feedback!

If you set the VPN to connect on engine start then you could kind of control tunnel access from the command line.

You can control access times for clients using the VPN if you go to the VPNs to be hosted properties, and select policies, here you can set the times for access by user or group.

Hopefully this will take care of your needs.

Best regards,

Matt
