Changed Default System Rights now I cannot get into Gatekeep

Postby garydb4 » Jun 17 04 11:07 am

Somehow I changed the settings and now I cannot get into Gatekeeper. I was in the area where the Users are and I changed something to system policies are required or something and now I cannot get back into Gatekeeper. I deleted the Administrator key and reinstalled the 5.2.3 software. I still cant get in. The everyone key is still in the registry. What can I do?

Hi Gary,

If you've changed the system policies and locked yourself out you may have to edit the registry. As always the usual warnings apply.

Stop the WinGate engine
Open the registry editor
find the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Qbik Software\WinGate\DefaultRights\Access
Delete the access key
restart the WinGate engine

you should now be able to log in as Administrator.

Please let us know how you get on,

Matt
