Wingate and Windows Server 2003

Postby bobx » Jun 25 04 9:22 am

Hi we are running a Windows Server 2003 with Wingate 5.2.1 as the internet proxy

It was running fine until a few days ago when some Windows services starting playing up. The Net Logon service and some associated services have started randomly stopping thus disconnecting users from the server. You can manually restart these services and log on again until the net logon service stops again. Also the internet dial up has become unreliable and hangs (stays connected) after a few seconds of traffic.

I am suspecting that this might be an issue with NAT, Wingate, and Windows Server 2003.

Any thoughts/help would be appreciated.

Did anything else change on the server around that time?

You didn't install the WinGate client on this machine as well did you?

Othewise, check for viruses... there are some nasty ones going around.

look in your Windows Task Manager for a process called wupdate.exe..
