Demand dial and Win 2K Server

Postby svdbergh » Jul 16 04 9:48 pm

Hi all,

I'm having an annoying problem with the demand dial for Wingate. Since DNS and DHCP services are disabled in my configuration because I'm using Windows 2000 Server for that, Wingate won't dial out at the request of my clients. I have to establish the connection manually to get the clients on the internet.

Is there some way to accomplish demand dial without using the DNS service of Wingate ?

Any suggestions ?

Cheers,

Sven

The version is 5.2.2. Sorry, should have posted that in the initial post.

I would suggest you upgrade to the latest WG6. However, if such upgrade is not an option for you, I would suggest that you check your dialer settings - make sure, that "Enable this connection" checkbox is ticked and user rights are set up properly.

Solved by upgrade

Apparently, the problem was solved by upgrading to 5.2.3 already. Perhaps reinstallation of the 5.2.2 would have solved it as well, so it may just have been a glitch of my installation...

Thanks for the support. That kind of service is not available for all software !

Cheers,
