Cant execute command from scheduler execute command line

Postby apolizzano » Sep 28 04 7:58 pm

Hi,
i tried to execute a command from the Wingate scheduler so i have :

1) In scheduler properties i clicked "Add";
2) In "Scheduled Event Properties" i have inserted the description, selected "Event enabled" and clicked on "Add";
3) On "Action" screen i have selected "Execute commandline" and in the Commandline field i write "copy c:\test.txt c:\test1.txt" without " ("Run Hidden" is not selected);
4) I clicked Ok, Ok and after "Do Now".
In the Scheduler log i see that the job is force but the command seem to be not executed.
I tried different command, script and program but nothing happens.

Can help me ?

I have installed a Wingate 5.2.3 on Win2k with Sp4.

Thanks.

PS: I also opened a ticket to Qbik but i don't received on my email the key to access the ticket so i can't see if there is some answer to my ticket.
I don't found any email to request this key to Qbik. If someone can help me from Qbik i'll be pleasing.

Hi

This is the email I sent through the support ticket.

Hi

WinGate runs as a service in the localsystem account, and therefore any application it launches also runs in this account.

If you look in task manager, you will probably see notepad.exe running, but you wouldn't be able to see it on your screen, since it will be running in an account which doesn't have access to the desktop of the user you are logged in as.

I assume that this notepad is a test case for you? We have several things like command shells running from the scheduler no problem, you need to make sure that the localsystem (called SYSTEM in user manager) has access to whatever you are trying to run.

Frist of all thank for the reply.
I'm just found the solution. Yes like you tell notepad was a test (not a good test) the real command was a cscript and its execution was not fine because i had some messages.
Now i have write all messages to a file and i start the cscript with a batch command started by gatekeeper and all is ok.
Thanks.
