License deactivation fails

Postby Moros » Sep 01 05 9:07 pm

Hello everyone.

I have set up an new Wingate (latest version) and now want to deactivate the license on the old WinGate so I can reactivate it on the new one.
Unfortunately I get the message
"Unable to connect to activation.qbik.com on port 80"
followed by a timeout-message (it's German, the translation would be something like "The time limit for the procedure has been reached") with the error code 12002.
The messages are repeated for a connection attempt on port 443.
Is this a problem with my settings or with your server?

The "old" WinGate is V6.0.4 on a NT4 SP6 Workstation.

So on the NT Box it cannot reach the activation server:
Can you browse web pages with it?

I just deactivated/reactivated a license here in the lab, and our server responded as expected. Also, you know that you can run a trial license on your Win2k box while troubleshooting this deactivation problem; correct? If you are not able to resolve this issue, please send your licensing details to sales@qbik.com and we will deactivate from here.

We will need the license name, key, and email address that it was purchased with. Can you also reference this forum post.
