WGIC no reception/incoming traffic

Postby redheat » Sep 07 05 7:18 am

I have WinGate as server on a Win2k machine. WGIC is installed on a Win XP machine as client. The client is behind a restrictive NAT router which blocks most ports. It can only connect on port 80 basically. So I configured the server and WGIC to this port.

The client can connect when I launch an application and starts to transmit data, but no data comes back in - zero.

First I thought that probably the router blocks the incoming traffic for some reason, but on the other hand for example I'm also using a VPN solution to bypass the router through port 80 which works fine (OpenVPN).

WinGate server firewall is disabled. Client has no firewall.

Can anyone help please?

Please check you have a DNS address specified in the TCP/IP settings of the XP box. You can specify the Wingate servers internal IP address as the DNS address.
