unable to access secure sights with WGIC enabled

Postby lwolf999 » Sep 08 05 6:36 pm

I am running Wingate 6.0.3 on Window 2000 sever with a variety of client computhers using Windows NT 4.0, 2000 Pro, XP Pro & Home, and 4 Macintosh iBooks running Mac OSX 10.2. On all of the Windows machines I am running the WinGate Internet Client and am unable to access secure (https) sights. I have tried enabling port 443 for the secure sights under WWW Proxy Server properties, and turning off the firewall to make certain it was not interfering. The clients can connect to secure pages when the WGIC is disabled, and the proxy server is set manually in Internet Explorer. Although without the WGIC Outlook will not connect to the POP server (we use ou ISP's POP server, we do not yet have our own) and we lose e-mail access. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am rather new to WinGate and am in serious need of help to rememdy this problem.

That’s a strange problem.

Can you please send an email to sales@wingate.com and attach your WinGate registry, your WinGate configuration report and reference this forum post. Can you also indicate whether you have ever upgraded WinGate before?

WinGate Registry:
(Windows) Start menu --> Programs --> WinGate --> GateKeeper --> Options menu --> Advanced --> Save Registry Settings
WinGate Config:
(Windows) Start menu --> Programs --> WinGate --> GateKeeper --> Options menu --> Advanced --> Save Report
