https-sites unreachable

Postby DickyArts » Nov 09 05 3:45 am

Hi,

we have installed Wingate 6.1.0 (Build 1068; incl. Kaspersky plugin) on Win2000 Server SP4 (but with some recent updates missing).

Whenever a client (IE6 on WinXP SP2 for example) tries to connect to a site such as https://auskunft.creditreform.de/ there is an hourglass for some seconds and then the browser has finished downloading the site showing a blank page. I have switched to proxy-setting in the IE to a proxy of another manufacturer and it works fine but we need to get it working together with Wingate

I found another thread with a similar problem ( http://forums.qbik.com/viewtopic.php?t=4004 ) so I alread had a look into the log:

11/08/05 07:23:41 192.168.1.249 buhaweb 0000000536 Requested: SSL://auskunft.creditreform.de:443
11/08/05 07:25:41 192.168.1.249 buhaweb 0000000536 Traffic 1313 329 270 1267 120s

I am not sure what that tells me but it seems to me like the proxy is getting an answer from the server and does not pass it to the client.

The system has only one NIC and the box "Overide interface MTU" is NOT checked.

Please help me to get these pages working!

Best regards

Thomas

Hi

From the traffic that is logged against that session, there is not much being sent/received. Even just the request could be that big.

what sort of internet connection do you use?

Regards

The internet connection is done by a netscreen/juniper firewall and works fine (it's a proprietary local provider using some kind of wireless lan - difficult to explain). The internet connection itself is working fine but the customer wants some kind of authorization so my boss decided to install the Wingate proxy. Now it causes lots of problems :-(

Additional information: Since the proxy already ran about one week without kaspersky and without trouble it seems there may be a relation... I will check that on friday.

A collegue of mine was so kind to install the software on another machine. Now on several machines the internet explorer just crashes when accessing secure sites :-(
