This is really frustrating me and my school. I installed wingate last year and used it with static settings in IE and had NO wingate client installations. This year we chose to use macromedia dreamweaver for our html editing. It depends on FTP for its functioning.
The difference with my setup this year is that wingate is now on the domain server and internet server. Soooo.. I disabled DNS and DHCP on wingate (previously served these roles on a internet server) and have server 2003 serving those purposes.
I decided to try the WGIC on my workstations... arghh..... it seems that for some reason WGIC chooses to stop functioning on differing workstations--kind of at random... IF I COULD FIGURE THIS ONE OUT THAT WOULD BE THE BEST SOLUTION..
However, I have almost given up on the WGIC and am wanting to go back to static IP settings
I can still static my http to the server IP 192.168.0.100:80 and it works fine...
However, I do not know eneough about ports to determine what port the FTP should be pointed to.... Where could I find the port number to use for FTP
Thanks,
Russ
