Webased trainnig video!

Postby xeo196 » Nov 09 06 6:09 am

We have wingate 5.2 on a win2k box. We can't launch any web based trainning that incorporates video. I can launch the course on the gateway or takedown my firewall. Therefore I know it is somewhere in the firewall. I could launch any other types of trainning. I also have ports 80 and 443 allows.
What is at hand?
Thanks,

Hi

do you know if the web-based video player uses a java applet, or makes its own connection to a server to get the streaming content?

In such cases you may need to add the SOCKS setting in the client browser's proxy configuration if you aren't currently using NAT. Then it will use SOCKS connections for java applets connectivity.

That depends on your client or also on the version. In
Firefox 2: Tools/Options/Networktab/Connection
IE: Tools/INternet Options/Connections/Lan Settings/Advanced

I am still strugling with this SOCKS thing.
Is it true that in order for SOCKs to work I have to run DNS forwarding in my network, correct?
Thanks
