pppoe connection

Postby The Beggar » Apr 07 10 5:16 pm

I have 2 internet connections going to my laptop. They are both Satellite connections. One is coming to me over the wireless and the other over the LAN. The one coming to me over the lan is setup as a dial up pppoe connection. Wingate is only seeing the LAN and not the dial up connection. I have to manually connect the dial up. When I try to set the wireless and the LAN up together in Wingate, it only uses the lan connection. The lan connection is good for my skype because of the solid connection. The wireless connections is good for downloading since it is much faster. I can't seem to get them to work together. I also can't seem to make wingate see the dial up connection as opposed to just the lan connection.

Hi

When you say WinGate can't see it, do you mean it doesn't show up in the network tab?

Regards

The network tab shows everything as Lan or Highspeed internet. Although it is in internal lan card, it is using a dial out connection with username and password to get on the satellite network. Once I manually dial the connection, it show's up as an incoming ppeo connection along with the wireless connection. The network tab shows some wan miniports but none with dial out connections. It only uses the wireless connection when the Lan connection is not plugged in
