Bypass proxy for URL's located on my WAN

Postby jvrsvw » Sep 14 10 4:05 am

Hi Guys

I have a problem that causes a lot of issues at my company. We use a a lot off URL's in websites and web services that is only applicable to our local network

The issue is when every PC's browser constantly needs to be configured for exceptions to bypass the wingate proxy and rather access the URL via the default gateway.

Is there maybe a way that I can set up a list or policy for when such a URL is requested that wingate sends it to the actuall server on the network and not over the Internet ?

Hope I explained it good enough.

Thanks for your help.

This would happen if the WinGate server is not able to resolve the internal domain names that are handled within your own network (i.e. WinGate isn't using the same DNS server as the clients).

Add the domain names and their respective IP addresses to the hosts file on the WinGate server (c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts).

Thanks logan, I will change the DNS setup.

Any resolution if the URL is IP address based like http://192.168.1.1/website

Thanks

The same should work. Just map the domain name 192.168.1.1 to the IP address 192.168.1.1 in the hosts file.
