GateKeeper shows blank

Postby ma.vicente@apm.es » Jan 03 12 3:41 am

Hi all,

We have used WG 6 several years with few problems. Recently we have installed a new controller domain with Windows 2008 server. There have no been changes on user rights policies. Neither on the WG server. Now when we're going to login on the GateKeeper with current administrative credentials this console appears blank. After a few seconds shows the message "Connection with WinGate server terminated". I read some post on this forum with similar issue but I want to avoid uninstall and re-install the product to keep the current configuration.

Details of WinGate Server:

* Windows 2003 Server R2 (SP2)
* WinGate v6.6.4 build 1338
* PureSight 2.0.2 for WinGate

Please, How we can solve this problem?

Are you running GateKeeper locally or remotely?

HI

WinGate 6 relied on there being a group called "Administrators" (including in an AD) which the user you log in with is a member of. On non-english versions of Windows, this can be a problem, since the group name can be translated.

WinGate 7 handles this much better, looking instead for a group with a well-known relative ID in the domain. So it finds the Domain Admins group, no matter what it's called.

Hi Adrien,

Thanks for your answer. I've tried to create a "Administrators" group account on my AD and then become a member my username. After I reboot the Wingate engine but I still get the same problem. Can we try something else whit Wingate 6 or we need upgrade to Wingate 7? In the last case we can use our old license?

Thank you very much

Hi

we can look remotely at your server if you like. We normally recommend Teamviewer.

Whether or not your license is eligible for WinGate 7 depends on the expiry date of its version protection. If after 1 Jan last year it's eligible, otherwise it would need to be renewed to run in WinGate 7.

If you'd like to proceed with a remote support, send us the details to our support desk at support@wingate.com
