login domain Windows 2003 server through Wingate VPN

Postby bentech » Jan 18 12 8:02 pm

Hi,

I am running a Windows 2003 server with XP clients. These are logging in on this AD domain.
Now I am trying to use Wingate VPN for remote users. I can ping from a remote site my domain and AD and succeeded to make the remote XP client a member of my domain but I can't log in. It says "no connection with this domain".
My question: is the Wingate VPN service starting before the login screen?
The VPN connection is working fine without logging in on my domain. Can you give me some technical advice?
Thanks for your help.

Hi

I have this exact same configuration at home to connect to our VPN, using XP the VPN connects before I log into Windows, which means my domain login succeeds.

If you can ping everything, and join the domain it's very odd. Normally if you can do that, everything else should be ok. Typical issues arise around DNS (client needs to use the AD server for DNS) or routing. Is there possibly some AD permissions that are blocking it?

Regards
