Configure files to be cached

Postby TsvWalker » Jan 06 13 12:24 am

Hello everyone,

I used Wingate 6 a few years ago and had a list setup inside to cache specific file types (.jpg .jpeg .png etc.) and it was just an option in the Cache settings (I think....). I am just starting to play around with Wingate 7 and am having trouble replicating this same setup. I realise that I am meant to use the Policy editor to create the rules but I have no idea what I am doing.....

Would someone be able to give me a push in the right direction as to how to set this up.

Thanks in advance,
Ashley

Hi

if you create a policy, attached to ProxyResponse event from the WWW proxy, you can look at content type of the response (Response.Headers.Get("Content-Type")) to see whether to force to not cache or not, using the cache control policy item.
