port forwarding

Postby entr0py » Oct 20 13 10:36 am

Hello!

I'm a new WinGate user coming from a Linux environment. I have a windows device as a gateway and I need to redirect egress traffic to another port for inspection. I've been poking at this and can't seem to figure out how to accomplish this.

Can anyone point me in the correct direction?

Thanks!

Hi

you can override destination and port on packets. In the port security tab in Extended Networking, choose "LAN connections to internet", that is "egress" (internally initiated connections to external).

But it also modifies dest IP, so this information may be lost, and so I wouldn't do it except maybe for http, where the host header can provide the destination for the upstream inspection system to connect to.

Is this just http you want to do this to, or other protocols?

Regards
