Just installed wingate 6.1 on the W2K Server dual NIC Cards
--> The latest version of WinGate is 6.2.1
http://downloads.qbik.com/qbiknz2/downl ... 33-USE.EXEMy Internet connection from inside of the network keeps dropping every couple minutes
--> Confirm it is not a DNS issue - next time you have no connectivity on a LAN Client, test with an ip address. e.g. ping 66.102.7.99 (google.com)
Here are two possible test solution based on the limited information you have provided:
a) If WinGate is the DNS Server for the LAN Clients, then add your ISP's/Routers DNS Server ip addresses into GateKeeper --> DNS/WINS Resolver --> DNS.
b) If you are in an Active Directory environment then the AD DNS Server will be the LAN Clients DNS Server - a Microsoft requirement. Confirm that it is forwarding to a DNS Server that resolve domain names - if it is forwarding to WinGate’s DNS Server, then you need to set in WinGate to never send the request back to the AD DNS Server (to avoid looping); that option can be found via (Windows) Start menu --> Programs --> WinGate --> Advanced Options --> DNS.
Also, my users which come in and are re-directed to the Internal servers get dropped
My interpretation: Remote Internet Clients cannot connect to LAN Servers via WinGate.
--> A few possible issues:
a) Confirm your network cards are correctly marked as External/Internal.
b) Confirm that your ENS Port Redirections have the option "Don't translate source ip" checked.
c) Confirm there are no firewalls on the LAN Servers that are blocking the connections.
d) Confirm the LAN Servers are setup for the NAT connection method.
e) If you do not need RRAS, disable it for the sake of testing.
f) Confirm there are no authentication errors in Gatekeepers System Messages tab - Internet Clients will connect in as the Guest user unless you have configured a way for them to authenticate.
g) Confirm the TCP/IP and Routing is correct on both network cards on WinGate server.
